As Easter approaches and the prospect of adorable baby animals pop up on social media and in backyards, the BC SPCA is reminding families that getting a pet around the holiday season isn’t a great idea. There will be many activities including a jumping castle, face painting, a coffee cart for those who enjoy good coffee, and a Puppet Show at 10.50am, followed by the popular egg hunt.
There will also be a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny, with an opportunity for photos. The younger kids will be at the City Park right across the street. Age groups will be ages 3 and under, 4 to 6, and 7 to 9.
The event runs from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 16 (Easter Sunday).
There will be other vendor booths, a raffle, photos with the Easter Bunny, and a karate demonstration. Muffins, juice and the Easter bunny will be available.
Chango Chango, Wendy’s, The Coffee Club and Whisk Yeppoon have all turned to the traditional Easter bunny for inspiration and have created speciality “bunny shakes” served in a hollow bunny and topped with everything from cream to sprinkles and even more chocolate eggs.
Kids from the Church At Briargate will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday in Colorado Springs.
With self-made Easter baskets, the hunt began, and the squeals of delight attested to how much fun it was to find the Easter eggs on our school grounds. The beach egg hunt costs $5 per person, and online registration is required. Call (760) 728-1671 for more information. Organizers ask that parents who plan to bring their children donate 15 eggs per child filled with treats or toys by Friday, April 14.
The hall was the family home of the Towneley’s for almost five centuries, and this Easter weekend their stories will be brought to life with guided mini tours starting at 1pm and 2.30pm each day. Together, they serve all 64 counties in our state and feed almost 700,000 people through their programs and more than 1,500 partner hunger-relief agencies.
