A new event has been lined up by Microsoft and it will take place in Shanghai, China on 23rd May.
The new educational tools he said include Windows experience called Windows 10 S; new experiences in Microsoft Teams for modern classroom collaboration; new features in Minecraft and mixed reality to spark creativity; a range of Windows 10 S PCs for K-12 classrooms; and the ideal Windows 10 S device for college students Surface Laptop.
Eyeing an education market that’s been dominated by Apple and Google, Microsoft yesterday announced a new Surface Laptop aimed at college students and a new operating system, Windows 10 S, that runs only apps from the Windows Store.
Microsoft Surface Head Panos Panay sent out a cryptic tweet using a couple of hashtags.
You only have one choice in default browsers for Windows 10 S: Microsoft Edge. But can Microsoft Surface Laptop really replace Chromebook? At one point there were strong rumours to suggest Microsoft would channel its Surface laptop 2-in-1 technology into a powerful phone. However, there is no harm in hoping for the arrival of a ground-breaking smartphone device from the Redmond-based tech giant as soon as possible. What’s more, the company didn’t even specify the exact location of the event. Will it be the successor to the Surface 3?
That being said, Microsoft is hosting an event later this month which brings with it quite a bit of excitement. With the Indian American Computer Science graduate with a self-confessed desire of having “always wanted to build things”, at its helm, Microsoft began to undergo a change that now in 2017 is positioning it as a company with a true vein of innovation.
According to reports, some Surface Pro fans have opposing views regarding the device’s power connector, since there are people who would like to see the new USB-C connector in the upcoming device to make it more versatile. There are also sessions scheduled to talk about Microsoft Edge and what is new for the web and web apps.
However, if Microsoft ends up not revealing the Surface Pro 5, then it might unveil the Surface Book 2 instead. “What we’ve done with Surface is a good example”.
The G-Hold, a device that attaches to a tablet to provide ergonomic support, was invented by Alison Grieve three years ago and has since proven popular, selling more than 10,000 units in the US. This laptop will be fast, Microsoft says – supposedly 50% faster than Apple’s MacBook Air and, intriguingly, speedier than its flagship Core i7-equipped MacBook Pro, too.
