There are quite a few big announcements due in the coming days, and here are just a few things we’re looking forward to this year. The anticipation is extraordinary. Here’s what to expect from E3 2017. I will let the numbers do the talking.
Interested? More information is being revealed at this year’s E3 – one of the world’s biggest gaming and technology conferences.
Meanwhile, there are speculations that the other two games might possibly include a new IP game from “Mass Effect” developer BioWare and a new title with similar gameplay mechanics as with “Assassin’s Creed“. This was identical to E3 2015, where 33% of the titles shown were new. The rest of RAM, in that case, would be used to speed things up and provide you a smooth gaming experience sans lag. Xbox boss Phil Spencer previously revealed that nearly 50% of Xbox One users have played backward compatible games, but up-to-date usage figures that include minutes-played have not been disclosed by the company. However, experts say Microsoft’s biggest challenge isn’t hardware – it’s software.
Only 6% of Sony’s showcased games were from an indie studio.
June may already be packed with game releases but this will be intensified with the return of E3 next week.
Recent years have seen Microsoft keeping their press conferences under 90 minutes, however according to Spencer there are too many games to contain into that timeframe!
55% of the games that were previously unannounced have released since E3 2016. Microsoft is aiming to try and win the event by officially showing off their new Scorpio console, but it looks like they’ll have a lot more than just a console to show off. EA (25%) and Sony (30%) are the worst.
Microsoft’s big E3 2017 briefing kicks off tomorrow (June 11) at 2pm PT. Word is, the show will run almost 100 minutes, so expect a whole lot of Project Scorpio talk, long gameplay demos, and hopefully a few good surprises.
The press conference for Bethesda will be a very late one, taking place at 3am on Sunday 11 June, so staying up through that will require some dedication. Of course, they will also focus heavily on first party titles, particularly Crackdown 3, which was first announced three years ago.
And over 30 more expected to appear at this year’s show.
Game unit shipments are expected to show a startling 77% growth in 2017. Sony’s formidable game lineup has often been the highlight of E3 shows. Mike Ybarra, corporate vice president, Xbox, and Windows gaming platform, revealed an exciting detail about the upcoming console on Twitter on Friday. Digital Foundry was shown a version of Forza Motorsport 6 Apex running on Scorpio at maximum settings and at both 4K resolution and 60FPS, meaning that the team at Turn 10 can do whatever they please to make the game look even better.
