Samus Returns Coming To The Nintendo 3DS — Metroid

June 13 23:00 2017

People are still riding high after Nintendo confirmed Metroid Prime 4 being in development but we have a new reason to hold on to the 3DS.

Nintendo has just released a hot batch of screenshots of Metroid: Samus Returns, and the game obviously is pushing the Nintendo 3DS family of systems to it’s limits.

The last traditional Metroid Prime game, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, was released almost a decade ago for the Wii. The Switch is getting a new Kirby game, a new Mario game, a new Pokemon game, more Legend of Zelda content, and a Metroid Prime game.

Psyonix’s popular soccer with cars “simulator” is hitting Switch with exclusive Nintendo-themed customization items and vehicles.

We have no other details other than that the game is happening, and that it’s an addition to the Prime series. Instead, designer and producer Kensuke Tanabe is helping lead the project alongside “a talented new development team”. The short teaser didn’t show any game footage as it simply showed “4” followed with the words “Metroid Prime“. Admittedly, this isn’t all that exciting of a Collector’s Edition, but it makes for a nice option for the more dedicated Metroid fans out there. All featured Amiibo will be covering games already released and indeed games that are releasing soon. Roll up into a ball and share your thoughts in the comment section below! There are various paths the player can choose to take and possibly get lost, finding new bosses to battle. That’s highly unlikely. But in reality, we aren’t sure what Nintendo has in store.
