McGregor: What the experts say

June 15 23:01 2017

If you thought the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor situation couldn’t get any more confusing, you are incorrect.

As reported earlier, the fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 26. But on August 26 – barring accident or injury – the best boxer of the generation will face the stellar name in the neophyte, yet hugely popular, sport of mixed martial arts. But now, after a bevy of false alarms, Mayweather and McGregor have agreed to terms on what will undoubtedly be one of the highest grossing fights in history.

Mayweather, considered one of boxing’s all-time greats thanks to his defensive skills, posted on his Instagram account: It’s official! alongside an promo image of the two men.

She captioned the picture: “With the boss Floyd Mayweather last night when he took his team to the premier of ‘ALL EYEZ ON ME“‘.

Mayweather retired in September 2015 after beating Andre Berto to improve his professional boxing record to 49-0. Mayweather, at the age of 40, will also be the much older competitor in this bout against a 28 year-old McGregor in his prime Jada Pinkett.

The point has been discussed thoroughly, with those in opposition pointing to McGregor’s love of MMA as the reason we won’t see a retirement from The Notorious one.

“It’s definitely the biggest fight ever in combat sports history, and probably going to be the biggest payday ever”, Dana White, the Director of UFC said in an interview.

“Boxing is a whole different world. but Conor really believes in himself, and I think he’s going to put up a good fight”. Given that the fight will not contain any aspect of MMA fighting, it is likely that McGregor will be disadvantaged against Mayweather whose entire career has been fought according to boxing rules. He also earned a record $250 million for his fight against Manny Pacquiao two years ago. – Jimi ManuwaWilson Reis vs Gervonta Davis Cub Swanson vs Paul MalignaggiStipe Miocic vs Anthony Joshua “Get me on the undercard!“. Whenever Conor hits people, they fall. Yet, he has managed to persuade Mayweather to agree to the fight.
