England lucky to have Kane, says Hart

Ray Wilkins and Tony Gale believe Harry Kane is worth at least as much as Neymar and Tottenham Hotspur should not let him leave White Hart Lane.

Kane will captain England in tonight’s World Cup qualifier at home to Slovenia, with the Three Lions requiring a victory to seal their place at next summer’s tournament in Russian Federation with a game to spare.

Spurs star Kane scored 13 goals for club and country in September, a return that matched the most prolific calendar months enjoyed by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in their illustrious careers.

So, over the a year ago or so, I’ve made them on the nutrition side. It goes so quickly.

“It’s not just matchday, it’s everything in the camp – thinking about how you integrate the rest of the squad, thinking about how you involve other people, thinking about the moments to step forward, leading by example, leading by having a quiet word with people”, Southgate said of what he wants to see from his captain. I am sure he is getting the rewards now for all that hard work.

“That’s recovery, sleep, eating the right food”.

‘Harry’s been doing it for years now and I think he’s got that hunger that he’ll keep doing it’.

Specifically, Kane has employed a personal chef, who is an expert in sports nutrition, who comes to his house six days a week to prepare healthy food.

“He keeps scoring goals and you can not ask for any more than that”.

“For me, it’s about creating that sense of belonging in the England squad that is really important”. I’m not a big fish fan, but he’s got me eating a bit more fish for my Omega-3 [fatty acids].

There was an admission to one guilty pleasure – “apple crumble” – but everything else had Southgate purring at his side.

While Kane’s eating habits have changed, his style of shooting has not. Now, however “world class” is defined, one would have to think that it is a measure of a player’s intrinsic ability and worth that it can not change one way or another with the team-mates a player has around him and whether they together are capable of winning a trophy.

“I saw Kane is in great form, but England have several other quality players too”, said Cesar, whose side complete their qualifying campaign at home to Scotland on Sunday.

“I’ll just go out there and do my best for the team, try and score goals and win the match”. We always did extra finishing.

Delph’s replacement, 21-year-old Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks, will hope to make his senior global debut. I think that’s worked well over the last few months.

“I would never say “no” or “yes”, he replied. “You’d not rule out anything”, he said when asked about the possibility of one day playing overseas.
