Samsung adds: “If a picture is worth a thousand words, the latest member of the Galaxy family has a lot to say”. Yes, there will be a ton of surprises in store for us during the launch but the Galaxy 9 and the Samsung Galaxy S9 will definitely steal the show. The phones are both expected to become available for preorder beginning March 1st or March 2nd, and they’ll go on sale in stores and online on Friday, March 16th. Samsung also committed to a minimum of four years of security updates for the phones. While they vary for the United Kingdom and U.S., they each offer a lot of power and are backed by more than enough memory. Although leaks of the upcoming flagship have appeared before, many of them have only revealed the color variants it is expected to arrive with.
The company also touted the audio experience of its new flagships, as they support Dolby Atmos surround sound. This is, of course, for U.S. and China, as Samsung will ship the S9 and S9+ with an Exynos 9810 Octa (4×2.9GHz + 4×1.9GHz) octa-core chip for the rest of the world.
The Galaxy S9 is rumoured to feature a 12MP rear camera on the primary lens with a variable aperture, capable of switching between f/1.5 and f/2.4 apertures. Galaxy S9 + (with a big screen and dual camera setup at the rear) will cost 997 € ($ 1230 USD). Samsung is rumoured to launch similar but slightly different 3D emoji in the Galaxy S9 and S9+.
On the software side, Korean websiteET News reported last week that Samsung will take a page out of Apple’s playbook and introduce its own version of “Animoji” (or animated emoji) that use the phone’s front camera and sensor to digitally animate the emoji based on your facial reactions. A new Samsung DEX device seems to be coming our way too.
“Not only does the Galaxy S9 and S9+ enable consumers to shoot the best photos and videos anywhere, it’s a smartphone that’s created to help them connect to others and express themselves in a way that’s unique and personal to them”.
Earlier today, Samsung had accidentally posted a product video of the Galaxy S9 and S9+. One feature Samsung may bring to its new phones will be stereo speakers, according to the site. This short clip shows a glimpse of the Galaxy S9’s design.
During the last weeks, one of the most intense debates about the new Galaxy S9 has been the price that the firm would fix.
The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will also belong to the first set of Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 smartphones.
