Our next rain chance will return late Friday with yet another front approaching the region. Until it does, a couple of rain showers will be around.
TUESDAY: Chance for rain showers (could start/finish as a bit of snow depending on the timing and track). However, the shift may come quite slowly, and we will have to be patient.
Fortunately, we’re only seeing a few flurries outside this morning as the trend is for the better throughout the day as morning clouds thin out for partly sunny skies this afternoon.
Sunshine should start to emerge again tomorrow by midday, and then we have high pressure in control through Sunday.
Overall, a seasonable spring day. While winds won’t be as blustery and strong as Friday’s, light northwest winds Saturday morning will drop wind chill values into the single digits.
A cold air mass remains settled over the state and will linger through the weekend. Saturday morning there will be a line of showers and thunderstorms that move through the area before noon.
Friday is shaping up to be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid 80s. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.
Saturday morning will feature rain and snow showers, according to Channel 3’s Meteorologist, Mike Cameron.
Tuesday night, the low will be around 43 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.
Snow is expected to remain on the ground in northern MI as temperatures stay below normal, likely into next week, Boguth said. This snow map only covers part 1.
Snow will taper and end by lunch on Friday.
An arctic cold front crosses the divide this afternoon. However, it should be too little, too late.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for areas along and east of I-65 for this afternoon and evening. In terms of totals, a scattered coatings to a half inch is expected.
