But things will brighten by the end of the week.
A chance of snow showers before 10am, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 10am and noon, then a chance of rain showers after noon. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid to upper 60s before cooling into the 50s for Sunday. Accumulations are expected to be a dusting to a half inch at most. Expect morning lows to range from the mid 40s to lower 50s.
LONG-RANGE FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS: Wednesday will have mostly dry skies and 60s for highs and Thursday and Friday are likely to feature sunny 70s.
Unfortunately our next big weather system to impact the region looks to come Friday night into Saturday just in time for French Quarter Fest.
Meanwhile, in areas closer to St. Joseph and across northern Missouri where temperatures were colder, accumulating snow was more likely, mostly on grassy surfaces late Sunday afternoon and evening.
If you have outdoor plans for Friday night or Saturday it would be best to have an indoor alternative in case rain occurs. Some sunshine will try to break through this morning but overall, we will see mostly cloudy skies today. Rain and thunderstorms are also possible, with strong storms possible in southern Iowa. We’re going to be seeing a gorgeous day on tap with highs in the upper 60’s-lower 70’s and a mix of sun and clouds.
A few of these showers are expected to pick up steam as they track east, with areas like Glasgow and Wolf Point seeing more widespread rain into Wednesday morning.
