Q2 Weather: Warmest today ahead of spring storm

This is ahead of another cold front that may touch off a shower or two be evening. We get dry slotted from the system, with a dry cold front shifting winds to the northwest on Wednesday.

“We are watching a late week storm that will bring rain and snow to southern Colorado Friday into Saturday”.

The second half of April is expected to be wetter than the first, with short moderate to heavy thundery showers. Under abundant sunshine and west-southwest winds, highs will climb into the middle and upper 60s for us today. Local gusts to 75 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Sunday evening will bring showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will return to the low to mid 40s overnight tonight and out the door tomorrow morning. Winds will gust to 30-35 miles per hour.

There won’t be much of an improvement on Monday with highs only in the mid to upper 30s.

High sea-levels are expected on the Mediterranean, Larache, Tan-Tan, and other regions. Southwest wind 10 to 14 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 21 miles per hour. Mountain passes (particularly Lolo, Lookout & Marias) will likely see 1″-4″ of new accumulations into Tuesday morning.

Wednesday looks to be the quietest day of the next seven with mostly sunny skies, lighter winds and temps near to just slightly below average. Thursday night will be mostly clear. Sunday high temperatures will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s. No outdoor burning! Highs will be seasonal, but cooler on Wednesday, expect middle 60’s.
