The victims, all Black men – ages 19 through 43 – were taken to hospitals with noncritical injuries, according to police. Inside, his obituary said the 24-year-old man “liked to swim, fish, listen to music, play basketball, be with family and take trips to Charlotte, N.C”.

Prosecutors are considering charges but won’t announce a decision before Monday, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said.

All three men are being held by police without bail on suspicion of assault, according to online jail records. People are continuing to get shot down by police in the streets.

Over the past year, protests against killings of unarmed black men and women – some videotaped with phones or police cameras – have rocked a number of US cities.

A video surfaced on YouTube days before the shooting of two masked men in a vehicle discussing plans to “make the fire rise” at the Black Lives Matter protest in Minneapolis. Some maintain that Mr. Clark was handcuffed at the time he was shot in the head by one of the two police officers.

“We made sure that all the pies were thrown out, and actually other food was thrown out for fear of contamination”, she said. She says protesters respect the family’s wishes, but aren’t going anywhere “until we get justice for Jamar Clark”.

Millions March NYC and NYC Shut It Down – both of which are part of the Black Lives Matter movement decrying police violence against African-Americans – held a rally beginning around 6:30 pm in Washington Square Park. A number of the protesters had been rough with the bunch, as stated by reporters and said authorities had showed up in full riot gear the night before.

“We wanted to continue the community space we’ve been building here and use a lot of the resources that we’ve been receiving to give back to the community”, said Miski Noor of Black Lives Matter.

Eddie Sutton, a brother of Jamar Clark, thanked the community for the support shown to the family.

The officers involved are Mark Ringgenberg and Dustin Schwarze, although police have not said who fired the fatal shot.

Berduc said he was at the precinct the night of the shooting, which led him to organize protests with other student groups.

“We now have the opportunity and the need to move forward from the (Minneapolis police) fourth precinct to the capital of the state of Minnesota”, Shiloh Temple bishop Richard Howell said, then quickly shifted to the topic of working with the Legislature to address economic disparities between whites and African-Americans in Minnesota.

Sen. Al Franken also issued a statement following last night’s shooting: “Like all Minnesotans, I was horrified to learn about the shooting of five people outside the Fourth Precinct last night”. A state criminal investigation and a federal civil rights probe are underway.

A demonstrator describes how five protesters were shot earlier in front of a Minneapolis Police precinct headquarters early Tuesday morning in Minneapolis. Meanwhile, The StarTribune said several federal agencies are looking into Clark’s death. The demonstrations in Chicago Tuesday night were not violent, however, they were definitely not composed.
