However, head of Microsoft’s Xbox division Phil Spencer recently spoke to The Verge about how Xbox will evolve in the future and whether or not they will create more consoles soon. I’m 100 percent committed to that. Next year, they say, is when we’ll be in the middle of the console generation.
According to AMD, the folks now supplying the APUs that power the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, expect them around 2019. Microsoft claimed it to be the best games lineup since 2007 when the Xbox 360 was competing with the PS3. But joking aside, it does hint at what Microsoft wants to make happen; PC users are drawn to Xbox games while Xbox players are drawn to buying more PCs.
In conclusion, if you want a vast array of options, Xbox One comes with a lot more varieties than the PS4. Just two years in to the generation, and the respective platform holders have sold through a combined total of – at a rough estimate – 48 million consoles. Not only has that reality yet to materialize, but it’s strongly believed that Nintendo will unveil and possibly even release its next console, code-named NX, in 2016.
If the end of Xbox is coming, it won’t be anytime soon.
