Agencies try to fill need for Christmas

“These heartwarming gifts embody the generosity we see during the holiday season and we’re grateful to all of the donors who continue to support the work of the Salvation Army“.

Customers will be able to donate new, unwrapped toys to any Bealls Department Store in Florida until December 11.

The women’s auxiliary started the program in 2006 to fulfill the number one requested item from children on the Angel Tree – bicycles.

“We promote our children being generous here, we like to promote community and encourage them to think of others at this time of year because we are abundantly blessed here at our school and our families”.

Local charities banked on the help of social media Tuesday to help boost their donation numbers for the holiday season.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Salvation Army is in the middle of its Christmas kettle campaign and needs your help. “… This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and it helps us fund rent, utilities, church, (and) sending kids to camp”.

“To qualify people have to show that they are struggling financially and we are containing to take applications for assistance because people situations might change”, Johnson said. Two of the rings are 80 years old, The Salvation Army said, and are valued at $900, $650, $300 and $300.

All money contributed goes to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Bureau, which buys toys, food, clothing and gift cards for families.

“I love it”, Merlin said.

“Panama City has given our company and our organization so much and we just want to, you know, give back to our community and appreciate the customers that are loyal to us”, said Lee.
