Alice Cooper’s tribute to Motorhead legend Lemmy

Instead of sitting at home in solace and possibly saying that “heavy metal is officially dead” or some outrageous nonsense, do Lemmy and the guys in Motörhead a favor, you grab all of your Motörhead records and you play them as loud as you possibly can to support what they have accomplished all these years.

Sebastian captioned one photo, which featured Lemmy: “You win some, lose some, it’s all the same to me”. The founder of Motorhead lived as hard and as fast as his music, which was nothing short of pure rock n’ roll.

They touchingly added: “Have a drink or few“.

The rock music world reacted with shock at the news. “Shake the heavens, my friend”.

He founded Motorhead in 1975, and continued recording and touring with the band until his death. Dee clarified that the group’s recently completed European tour would be its last, and that Bad Magic, released earlier this year, would likely be its final album.

“Ace of Spades” is Motorhead’s signature song, the one that even non-fans can name (and warble) if dared to sing it. So, it’s no surprise that the band’s best-known anthem rears its hard-charging head in pop culture the most, from video games to television syncs to weird cover versions on YouTube. It reached number four in the United Kingdom charts.

Metallica tweeted: “Lemmy, you are one of the primary reasons this band exists. We’re forever grateful for all of your inspiration”. “It’s heartening that we didn’t cancel because of Lemmy”, he said.
