Raisman and the rest of the “Final Five” crew has received quite a few social media shoutouts from celebrities during this year’s Summer Olympics.
Asked for the camp’s 2003 yearbook, “In 20 years I will be …”, Raisman responded, “An Olympic gymnast”, as revealed on Twitter by Tech Insider managing editor Emily Cohn, who attended camp with Raisman. Team USA newbies Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian had written to team captain Raisman saying how proud they were. And Aly, it turns out, correctly predicted her Olympics future at age 9. The note reads: “We couldn’t be any happier for you!” We’re so thankful to have you cheering us on, and helping us through this Olympic journey! We love you mama Aly! “Love, Maddie and Laurie”, the girls wrote in their letter. She is now the team captain of USA’s Final Five, was a star of the London 2012 Games’ Fierce Five, and holds three gold medals (and could snag even more in Rio).
All this and Raisman is only 22 years old – imagine where she’ll actually be in 2023.
After she won silver in the individual all-around final Thursday, Raisman was swarmed by her fellow gymnasts.
