On this week’s episode of American Idol the contestants did their thing on stage for all of America watch, judge, and vote on from the comfort of their own homes.
During Thursday’s live show, the singing competition’s first victor, Kelly Clarkson, will return to guest judge and perform, according to the video preview. “I felt like that one, for you, wasn’t everything it could be, knowing how you sing. I didn’t think it was the strongest performance that you could’ve given, but again, that’s what made me start thinking that you were 15. The way your voice sits in the music is so out of this world”. It’s the final season of American Idol and voting is very important so that the right person closes out the series as the ultimate victor.
From left, top row, are contestants La’Porsha Renae, MacKenzie Bourg, Tristan McIntosh, Trent Harmon, Olivia Rox, Gianna Isabella and Sonika Vaid; from left, bottom row, are Dalton Rapattoni, Avalon Young and Lee Jean.
In this week’s episode, judge Harry Connick Jr., who criticized Blosil in the last two episodes, praised her performance. Urban thought the song and the performance were equally impressive on Wednesday. More than likely, the judges will also have a say, given that 14 people is a lot to feature in performances over the course of a single night. However, there were a few performances and musicians that stuck out to audience members and judges in particular – like contestant Sonika Vaid. Her string of country covers continued with her take on Dan and Shay’s “Nothin’ Like You“. No more than 10 votes per contestant per voting method are allowed.
After becoming a favorite at the Cowboy Poetry Gathering, Jeneve Rose Mitchell is making her mark on “American Idol“. “American Idol is so lucky that she was able to come back and contribute like that”.
We’ll see if she makes the next cut when “Idol” returns Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m. CT on Fox.
