Andre Iguodala has to step up for the Golden State Warriors

Last season, Boston snapped Golden State’s 54-game home winning streak with a dramatic 109-106 win as Steph Curry’s 3-pointer in the closing seconds missed the mark. In the fourth quarter, Thomas leads the league with 10.3 points per game.

Blake Griffin had 26 points and DeAndre Jordan scored 15 points with 12 rebounds despite shooting 3-for-16 from the free-throw line. Unfortunately, they were doing so against a team that beat them inside Oracle Arena last season.

“The way I am working now is that way”, Rivers said.

“It is insane though”, Thomas added. “There is no way we are going to let them play the whole quarter, especially with the stretch that we are on”.

By his lofty standards, Thomas had a quiet night with 25 points on 7-of-20 shooting with three assists and three steals. It wasn’t just that they outscored the Boston Celtics 63-35 to finish the game, but how they did it: finding the open man rolling towards the basket, making timely outside shots, and limiting the opposition to one possession on each trip down the court.

After 41 minutes that featured eight ties and eight lead changes, the Warriors led 79-78 on a Draymond Green dunk before the Celtics took charge.

But the opposite happened. Isaiah Thomas is averaging 29.5 points and 6.2 assists while Avery Bradley is averaging 17.1 points and 6.4 rebounds.

A fired-up Celtics squad, playing the sort of defense that everyone expected but has rarely been seen this season, were dripping with swagger as the run continued.

The Celtics scored just one point over the last 3:48, missing their 12 shots from the floor and turning the ball over once. “It’s just the way we lost tonight was unacceptable”.

Manu Ginobili managed 19 points for in-form San Antonio as the Kings lost their sixth game in a row. And they forced 18 turnovers on the night. Kelly Olynyk played a hell of a game.

For a time, it looked like the Warriors were in position to pull out a win on a night when they clearly couldn’t find their best form. “He gave us a boost off the bench”. Even without the injured Kevin Durant, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens explained, “You still have the core of a team that won a championship and a team that played for another championship”.

Though the Celtics hit the road on a high note after a big win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, they aren’t having much fun in the sun out west.

The Celtics were in control of the Clippers throughout the first half Monday, but unraveled after halftime.

“I think if, maybe… maybe if LeBron went hard, everybody else would follow suit, cause they’d be like, ‘Hey, if he’s going hard, we gotta go hard, ‘” Thomas said when asked about the game. Klay Thompson dumped in 24 points.

“For whatever reason, we’re in a little bit of a funk from three right now”, Kerr said.

“That’s what it’s all about”.
