A 60 percent chance of rain is predicted before noon on Wednesday, with cloudy skies expected otherwise. Tomorrow may be the warmest day of the week, cashing in around 56 degrees.
The snow level with the third storm will drop to 3,500 feet on Monday, according to the NWS.
A winter weather advisory heralding the advent of especially challenging travel conditions will be in effect in the mountains in Los Angeles and Ventura counties from 10 tonight until 10 p.m. Thursday. They promise to bring as much as 3 feet to the tops of area mountains and 3-6 inches of rain to the Inland valleys.
Thunderstorms passed through the Eugene area early Wednesday morning, according to the weather service.
“Heavier precipitation arrives this evening and continues into Wednesday, brining the potential for hours of freezing rain, sleet and snow”, officials said.
While the storms are not likely to bring widespread high winds to the Southwest, winds can be strong enough to knock over a few trees where the ground is saturated.
State Route 160 between Las Vegas and Pahrump could get snow accumulation, making for risky road conditions, according to the weather service.

FIRST ALERT WEEKEND: The threat for severe storms capable of producing all modes of severe weather spikes on Saturday and Sunday. A half-inch to an inch and a half of rain is possible in L.A., Sukup says, with foothill areas likely to see the most precipitation. The northern part of the system is set to come into the valley on Tuesday, dropping the most precipitation on Wednesday and Thursday.
Most of the region should expect ice accumulations of less than a half an inch, but some spots, especially counties under the Ice Storm Warning, could see almost an inch.
