Apple is Skipping iPhone 9 and Plans to Release iPhone X

The truth is that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were almost as good as you could get in terms of LCD (liquid-crystal display) image quality; I would be, quite frankly, stunned if the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus delivered legitimate improvements in color or grayscale accuracy.

The third reason we have here is important for photography enthusiasts as well as for those interested in the security of their data. Samsung’s new phone will cost $960; Apple’s high-end iPhone X will cost $999, 45% more than the average selling price of an iPhone in 2016. Set to be released this November, ten years after the first iPhone launched, the iPhone X has new features such as an edge-to-edge OLED screen (a thinner screen that does not use a backlight), wireless charging, facial-recognition technology and a dual-lens camera. Though they haven’t made any prototypes public in a while, Samsung actually first showcased a flexible display all the way back in 2013.

While biometrics are not bad at all, Flagships should offer more.

Coming to the pricing, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has been priced at Rs. 57,900. You can look at some of the more “budget” top- or mid-tier phones for under $500, which tend to get the job done well, even if they’re not likely to rock your world. The only difference now is that they’re all significantly cheaper than the iPhone 8.

While Apple has not been the first company to launch a bezel-less smartphone, the launch of the iPhone X with edge-to-edge display is already generating a lot of buzz.

There is one feature I wish I’d had more time to see – augmented reality.

For Apple, the iPhone X boasts the most battery life, explicitly promising two hours of extra battery life over the iPhone 7 – an extrapolation you could extend, presumably, to the iPhone 8. This phone comes with 64GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot that can expand internal storage by 256GB.

It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP primary camera, 16MP secondary camera and runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with a promised upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo. For example, if Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus aren’t sufficiently compelling to the subset of the iPhone buying population that isn’t going to buy the iPhone X, then that subset of iPhone buyers could shift their purchases toward the now-discounted iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. LG’s phone comes with two rear-facing cameras: one standard and one wide angle, like the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus. This article is just meant to point out some key points that Apple and Samsung are offering at a similar price.

Frankly, we wouldn’t be surprised to find out the iPhone X also has a fingerprint sensor built into the power button upon release, because between masks and different types of head-covering clothing, it seems like there would be some easy ways to mess with Apple’s Face ID.
