Apple’s iPad Pro is closer than ever to replacing your laptop

June 14 05:36 2017

After Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference last week, everybody was talking about new hardware.

The iPad’s new camera has an aperture upgrade from f/2.2 to f/1.8, and in fancy photography terms, that means you can take some killer selfies in low-light conditions. Unfortunately, these formats are only available on the new iPads and iPhones.

Perhaps unexpectedly, the next most exciting unit on display was the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro, running iOS 11.

Other features that will no doubt show up in the enterprise include NFC support, password autofill for apps, “tap to join meetings” (I haven’t seen what this will look like yet, but I’ll take it), and DeviceCheck, a type of device fingerprinting implemented in the typical Apple way.

Sure, texting and driving is banned in many states, cities, and towns, but that certainly doesn’t stop people from driving and texting because the laws are haphazardly enforced for many reasons.

Apple’s iMac all-in-one line-up got some upgrades, with newer-generation Intel Kaby Lake chips, faster storage, brighter displays and expanded connectivity options.

Texts sent via iMessage will also be intercepted. Called Screen Recorder, the new features is accessible via the new Control Center and allows you to capture screen recordings right from iOS 11-on the device itself (you previously needed a Mac and QuickTime software). Soon all the controls will be on one colourful, widget-filled page.

Upgrading to iOS 11 lets you use Apple Pay’s person-to-person payment feature.

For one, there is a decent battery life.

. Your friends or the people you are paying will need to be using iOS as well in order for this feature to work. That’s good news and a step in the right direction for the identity and security industry, but unfortunately it doesn’t appear to deliver on the ultimate goal – the use of Apple’s handset as a security credential. For creative work and digital note-taking, you’ll notice even less latency than before, which is saying something.

At WWDC, Apple revealed their return to the high-end desktop market.

The personal voice-assistant Siri’s voice is now more natural and expressive. Siri will also be capable of contextual learning. This quick access design is meant to make multitasking even more productive. For example, it will offer news stories based on things it has learned you like. All of these questions and more are answered in this complete guide.

Siri is going to know a lot about you. As for an iOS 11 jailbreak, don’t get too excited just yet. Check out the video below to see the original apps and their iOS 11 correspondents.

Q: How do I get apps to give me notifications when I’m using Windows 10 on a desktop computer? It’s now possible to manipulate Home screen app icons using drag and drop, allowing users to move multiple icons at once. Everything will be right here in the Control Center, so it nearly will seem like it is the Home Screen just put into that location.

If you’ve ever had aspirations about being a developer and want to learn how to do it for barely any outlay at all then this course is for you.
