According to Cue, Music is now “well past” having 20 million subscribers. It should be noted that Apple and Samsung are yet to provide public commentary about the matter.
Extreme Tech makes a valid point when they discuss the quantity of OLED panels Apple is ordering.
The iPhone X is highly-tipped to arrive with an edge-to-edge OLED display screen, created to be both sharper and more energy efficient compared to an IPS LCD panel now sported on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Apple has been testing BOE’s OLED displays for months, according to Bloomberg, but it isn’t yet sure whether to add the company as a supplier. Apple shipped 211 million iPhones a year ago and 231 million in 2015, so this order constitutes about 76% of its previous sales in OLED panels. However, loyal iPhone consumer is concerned about the expensive price of it that seem to be overrated. This also means that the OLED iPhone will get to have the same screen real-estate as that of the iPhone 7’s at 4.7-inches. Such light emitters can be integrated inside the touch panel, greatly reducing the overall dimensions inside the device. In addition, the iPhone 8 is expected to have wireless charging, but rumors surrounding this matter have been pretty murky so far. The other two variants, however, are said to come with standard LCD panels.
Last April, Apple signed a contract with Samsung for 100 million OLED panels worth $6.9 billion, the newspaper said. Apple fans are expecting great things on the Cupertino, California-based tech titan’s next smartphone, especially since this year marks the 10th anniversary of the iPhone. Will Tim Cook announce a 4.7-inch iPhone 7s model alongside the new iPad Pro models in March, or will all three next-generation iPhone models be unveiled together much later in the year? However, it has never been seen in its product, except Apple Watch.
