Apple’s WWDC moves to San Jose, kicks off June 5

February 17 07:01 2017

Apple is hosting its annual Worldwide Developers 2017 event between June 5 and June 9 in San Jose, California this year.

Developers will be given the opportunity to apply for tickets to WWDC 2017 sometime during the spring.

Apple will be showcasing the next versions of its platforms this year on June 5th at their 28th annual Worldwide Developer Conference, WWDC. For Apple’s engineers, the San Jose convention center is much closer to Infinite Loop and Apple Campus 2 in Cupertino, Apple’s company campus. In additional, there will be a 2017 WWDC app for Apple products such as iPhone, iPad and Apple TV which allows the user to be updated on what is happening in the event. The new venue is also just a few footsteps away from Apple’s new headquarters in Cupertino.

Apple will be holding keynote address, get together, sessions and labs for developers. It’s best to renew your developer membership with Apple immediately if you want to stay on the positive side of the fence.

Regarding the keynote itself, everyone can expect to get a glimpse of Apple’s software future, including iOS 11, macOS, tvOS and watchOS. Meanwhile, if interested in attending the event in person, do make sure you put in your name for a seat at the WWDC at the earliest. Registrations start from March 27; like previous years, the tickets will be available through by random selection.

Schiller, who was mum on specifics about the conference, says that this year’s conference will be their biggest event of the year.

San Jose was the site of the first WWDC, which took place in 1990.

It could also include the augmented reality capabilities Apple is believed to be working on.

More details should be unveiled soon, and we’ll prepare an in-depth story with all the things that you should expect if you plan on attending WWDC 2017. Developers in attendance are given access to Apple engineers and the latest software from Apple to “continue creating incredible experiences for every aspect of customers’ lives” the company said. Liccardo believes that Apple is helping to reinvigorate San Jose’s downtown and that the city will “engage the leading innovative companies, like Apple, to talk about how we can be partners in our mutual success”.
