Arkansas’ Hunter Henry, Denver Kirkland headed to 2016 National Football League draft

In a statement released by the school, Henry said he intends to return to Arkansas to complete his college degree. “I have enjoyed my experience more than I could have ever imagined”, Henry wrote. “The last three years at UofA have given me the opportunity to develop as a scholar, athlete and as a person”.

Henry has been one of the best tight ends in college football throughout his career, being named an All-American twice.

“After a great deal of prayer, I’ve made the hard decision to enter the 2016 NFL Draft, Henry wrote”.

Bielema said after Arkansas’ 45-23 Liberty Bowl victory over Kansas State last Saturday that he planned to talk to Kirkland in person later this week.

But while the tight end position might be looking thin for the draft, at least among underclassmen, it’s no fault of Henry’s. Though he moved to left tackle this past season, the 6-foot-5, 340-pound Razorback is ranked as the No. 5 offensive guard by Kiper. The Football Writers Association of America was the only outlet to not name Henry first team All-America as the organization did not name a tight end to either of its teams.

He improved once again this season, and his 1,661 career receiving yards are second among tight ends in school history behind Williams.

Junior running back Alex Collins, who is also weighing a decision to declare early, is expected to meet with Bielema on Wednesday morning in south Florida.

For now, Bielema’s Thursday lunch date with Collins is still on without a Collins announcement of his intentions.

During the season, former Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman, who moved on in December to Georgia, lauded the progress of backup offensive tackles Johnny Gibson of Dumas and Brian Wallace of Florissant, Mo.
