Manchester United bss Jose Mourinho has suggested that he sees Alexis Sanchez playing in a number of positions during his time at Old Trafford.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has extended his contract until 2020, with an option of activating a further year, the Premier League club said on Thursday.
United and City went head-to-head for the Chilean this month with the forward moving to Old Trafford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan signing for Arsenal in return.
Even when it became apparent their rivals had entered the running, Premier League leaders City were still willing to walk away rather than pay a total package they considered over the odds.
Mourinho added: “I’m very happy and have to say with pride the evolution of Lingard, Martial, Scott McTominay and these kind of young guys”.
Thierry Henry has denied the claim from Alexis Sanchez that he advised him to leave north London following claims from an Arsenal fan that his Emirates Stadium statue should be removed. “I’ve got a supportive board and supportive family and if you can stand the test of time you end up with magical moments like Friday night”. You like the ones at the top.
“Now we know that we have to deal with that and we can get on by giving everyone a little bit more“.
“We have to put things in perspective”.
“He showed already the quality he has so we’ve got one of the best attacking players in the world”.
Egypt global Elneny is undoubtedly a limited player but he offers more positional discipline than departed defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin and he showed his capabilities of performing when it really matters.
“I think it will be really fun to play alongside Ozil”. In big clubs, you have competition.
Which is why Sanchez understandably was not prepared to hang around at Arsenal anymore, where the ambition is lacking with a manager and a club that have lost their way.
Mohamed Elneny has aimed a dig at Alexis Sanchez.
Mourinho confirmed Sanchez is in the squad to face Yeovil Town in the FA Cup on Friday and the coach was particularly happy to conclude a deal that he feels is “fantastic” for all parties. They also advanced in the FA Cup, eliminating Southend, Port Vale and Bradford City to reach the fourth round, manager Darren Way – who made over 200 appearances for the club as a player – using a 4-4-2 formation as he looks to improve their defensive record.
