Athletes to Trump: That’s not how our locker room talks

“Since Friday, nothing has been the same”, Noah said, before he reminded viewers that people actually thought the second debate would be interesting because of drama surrounding Trump’s tax returns.

A 2005 tape of Donald Trump making lewd comments that leaked over the weekend caused hundreds of demonstrators to protest the presidential candidate Sunday in the Highlands. After running a clip from the Access Hollywood video wherein Bush, after gleefully participating and agreeing with Trump’s “pussy” grabbing speech, begs the actress Arianne Zucker tasked with escorting this morons to set to give “The Donald” a hug. And when that woman wonders, either silently or out loud, why he didn’t say “this is gross” to Trump, he’ll just laugh it off, because she doesn’t get it. “It’s wrong – it’s just wrong”.

Having been caught on a 2005 tape saying that because he was a star he could walk up to women, kiss them and even grab their genitalia, Trump tried to explain it all away during the debate by saying this was merely “locker room talk“.

But never words describing or condoning sexual assault.

The fact is that Trump often seems to forget that there are, in fact, women voters, and that he absolutely needs their support if he plans on winning the presidency. “Trump may fit in if he came in here, who knows?”

If Mr Trump is unable to narrow the gender gap, he will be unable to overcome Mrs Clinton’s lead in the polls.

“I can’t with good conscience vote for someone with that kind of mindset to the presidency”, said LeighAnn Chase, a 27-year-old nursing student from Lakeland, Florida.

The top elected Republican Paul Ryan has distanced himself from Trump by saying he won’t defend his comments, while stopping short of taking back his endorsement.

Cote said she’s now leaning toward voting for Clinton but hasn’t decided, adding, “It is hard for women”. Trying to make Trump’s comments sound normal is not something that they’re achieving.

“No, I didn’t say that at all“, Trump said.

This comment of “locker room behavior” is remarkably similar to the age-old excuse “boys will be boys”, which was just one of many used in the case of Stanford rapist Brock Turner earlier this year.

“He can say whatever he wants I know it’s true, I am a part of his past he wants to forget”, she said. “I don’t believe he’s got a conscience”. The way Trump dismissed his previous comments reveals something much more sinister about his character and the deeply entrenched issue of rape culture in America.

Does Trump's 'locker room banter' describe sexual assault?
