Raees and Kaabil released on January 25, both boasting of Bollywood superstars (Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan, respectively) in the leads roles. The first day collection of Raees stands a little over 20 crores while that of Kaabil was a little over 10 crores.
Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam-starrer Kaabil has witnessed a massive growth in its second day collections due to the Republic Day holiday. Mahesh Manjrekar’s Vaastav (1999), Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (2010) and Apoorva Lakhia’s Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007) are a few.
Actor Amitabh Bachchan has praised two of the year’s most awaited films Raees and Kaabil. In Mumbai, Kolkata and Gujarat, Kaabil has been severely affected by Raees which is having a dream run in these regions. But clearly Raees has steered clear with Kaabil.
Promotions were also done on an aggressive note by both the teams as they made the films a huge talk of the town all over.
Talking about region-wise occupancy, Kaabil reported growth in nearly all regions.
Kaabil has managed to curb a double digit income on day 4 and is expected to also collect double digit collection on 5th day of its release. The action-crime drama has pocketed Rs 59.83 crore at the box office till Friday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The film is now in joining with Hrithik’s one of the leading highest opening movie.
