Starting in her early 20s, she has been collecting leap year memorabilia, including pins from the 1930s and ’40s, and penny postcards from 1904, 1908 and 1912.

Typically, they celebrate both on the day closest to a weekend and each sister gets her own cake and special meal choices for the day.

Those who are born on February 29 are called “leaplings” or “leapers” and in some countries when it is not a leap year, they celebrate their birthday on February 28 or on March 1.

‘It’s even confused me this year!’

“I remember talking to him about this, like ‘How could you do that?’ and me asking my mom, ‘How could you let him?’ But she said, ‘Well, I trusted him'”.

“When I turned 21, I wanted to celebrate it on the 28th, but that didn’t fly”, Angelo said.

FRANKIE Bunbury has had only two birthdays but is eight years old today.
