Bernie Sanders, who has dutifully backed Clinton since conceding the Democratic nomination to her in July, is now vowing to push progressive legislation he campaigned on during the Democratic primaries – whether Clinton supports it or not.
Bernie Sanders ran against Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary for the 2016 presidential election.
And if Clinton appoints the “same old, same old Wall Street guys” to her Cabinet, Sanders said he will “be vigorously in opposition, and I will make that very clear”. “Trust me, if they went into our emails-I suppose which may happen, who knows-I’m sure there would be statements that would be less than flattering about, you know, the Clinton staff”, he said. “Bernie Sanders lounges at elite Martha’s Vineyard pool, summer 2015 after helping raise money from Wall Street lobbyists”. Even if one believed, against all the evidence, that Clinton actually intended to enact a modest program of social reform, the financial demands of an expanded military intervention in the Middle East, let alone a major war with Russian Federation or China, would mean an immediate end to such projects.

Over the years, in the course of her public life-as a social activist, governor’s wife, First Lady, US Senator and Secretary of State-Hillary Clinton has developed a strong and well-defined philosophy with firm views on social, political and economic issues. But Steve can’t take the further step of declaring his sympathy for Trump’s critique of the media, even though Trump is echoing much of what has been the left-wing attack on the media for many years.

This summer, Senator Sanders began the organization “Our Revolution, ‘ a political organizing group focused on supporting progressive candidates across the U.S”. In the case of this election, he sees voters turning out because they’re concerned about one of the candidates getting elected over the other.
There is also the issue of Clinton entering the White House, as she is likely to do at this point considering.
Sanders decried that there are millions of people still uninsured or underinsured; the cost of higher education and high student debt; the cost of child care, and that hanging over everything is a dire need to deal with climate change and wean the nation from fossil fuels.
And, Sanders rightly feared Trump’s xenophobia, Islamophobia, misogyny, racism and demagoguery. And while Clinton and her top surrogates might speak in smaller venues, their appearances are guaranteed to make (and often lead) the nightly news in all of these swing states. But Clinton’s pledge to “to get things done” hasn’t gone over well with Democrats like Sanders. “They don’t just have a single-payer system, but they have very clear controls over budgeting and accountability”.
Given his comments this week, he might well be regretting his decision. He either did not take seriously or failed to understand the urgency of the situation.
