However, the group has been emphatic that today wouldn’t be “business as usual” for Americans.

A handful of stores have closed ahead of an expected protest organized by Black Lives Matter that activists say could bring hundreds of protesters to the Mall of America on the day before Christmas Eve. Jeezy openly voiced his support of the Black Lives Matter group, most especially, the recent protests at the Mall of America.

Officials said access to one of two terminals was blocked, causing backups on nearby roads.

Hogan said the 45-minute closure of security lines caused delays for some Southwest and Sun Country flights.

In a press release, Black Lives Matter Minneapolis said the protest was against “unmitigated state sanctioned violence against Black people and communities of color”.

No damage or injuries were reported during the protest.

And yet, KARE reports protesters still showed up Wednesday.

Gov. Mark Dayton said Wednesday that 30 Minnesota State Patrol officers would be on hand in Bloomington at the request of the local police department.

MPR News says about 500 protesters gathered at the Bloomington mall, which has a policy prohibiting political protests.

Security checkpoints were shut down briefly in Terminal 2 to prevent protesters from moving into secure areas of the airport, the second busiest in the Midwest after Chicago’s O’Hare.

Four men who police described as racists with anti-government views were arrested after opening fire on the protesters on November 24, injuring five people.

Police said it was an “unauthorised demonstration” and at one point described the situation as “very, very dangerous”.

A similar demonstration at the Mall of America last December drew hundreds of demonstrators angry over the absence of charges following the police killings of unarmed black men in New York City and Ferguson, Missouri. The judge did say three organizers were not allowed at the mall.

Bloomington police have not said what security measures the mall may put in place to curtail the protest.

The protests hit Minneapolis’ Mall of America once again in addition to other big cities where airports and highways were disrupted.

The mall sought a court order blocking the planned protest.

Kandace Montgomery, one of three organizers barred by Judge Karen Janisch’s order, said the group wasn’t deterred by the ban.

Montgomery predicted as many as 700 people would still show up for the rally Wednesday and said the event would help pressure officials to release video of the shooting of Clark. “Just barring three of us does not mean that you’ve stopped our work”, she said.
