Body of country singer Craig Strickland found after days of searching

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Marine Enforcement Division recovered the body of Backroad Anthem‘s Craig Strickland in Kaw Lake’s Bear Creek Cove Monday morning, a week after the country/rock singer was reported missing.

Strickland went on a duck-hunting trip with his friend, Chase Morland, Dec. 26. Searchers found Morland’s body in the lake a day later.

“After the recovery, Strickland’s wife, Helen, posted to Twitter today: “#CraigStrickland was found today. Thank you to every single person who prayed for him and our family during this time. “I will praise you, Amen”. According to state troopers, they believe the pair’s boat could have turned over in the lake. Strickland disappeared a week earlier after going duck hunting during a winter storm.

Everyone please say special prayers for the family of Chase Morland.

Country music star Justin Moore has offered prayers of “strength, safety, guidance and encouragement” to the family of fellow country musician Craig Strickland as rescue crews recovered the body of the missing 29 year old on Monday. Morland’s body and Strickland’s dog Sam were found, but the singer was unaccounted for until now. “But then, when we least expect it, He speaks and comforts us in such attractive ways”, Helen Strickland had tweeted.

He was found close to where his friend’s body was found days before, after their boat capsized. That allowed them to narrow the search area.

“It’s a big lake, and when we have high winds, the lake will get whitecapped; the waves get pretty big”, VanHoesen said Tuesday.

Strickland’s six-member Backroad Anthem formed in Arkansas in 2012.

“Just know we’re praying for you brother and know there’s still hope you’ll be found”, Rich’s post reads.
