Bradley makes plea to Swansea fans

There was no better way to end the year for struggling Ghana star Andre Ayew than with a goal at his former club Swansea City on Monday night, where he broke his duck for West Ham United.

The result meant that Bradley’s record from 11 games in charge was two wins, two draws and seven defeats.

Bradley was head coach of the USA national team from 2006 until June 2011, when he was sacked.

It was also the eighth time during Bradley’s tenure that Swansea had conceded three goals or more in a match and left the Welsh club second from bottom in the Premier League, four points adrift of safety.

The first American to manage in the Premier League didn’t last three months.

Bradley was the first American soccer coach who was appointed as a general manager of a top league English club.

His brief tenure there, however, ended on December 27, when the club announced via Twitter that they and Bradley had parted ways.

“Personally, I have nothing but praise for Bob”.

But it remains to be seen whether the former Manchester United assistant manager would want to work with the Swansea hierarchy.

“I believe in my work and I certainly knew that I was going into a hard situation and I also understand that when you go in the clock’s already ticking, so it’s not like you’re expecting all sorts of time”.

Bradley, 58, saw his Swansea side pick up just two wins and two draws in his 11 games in charge, during which they conceded 29 goals, after he replaced Francesco Guidolin on October 3.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot believes Alan Pardew is the right man for the job at the Liberty Stadium because of his top-flight experience.

Swansea now face another massive home test as they face 13th placed Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve.

On Oct. 3, when he joined the club, Swansea was at the 17th place in the Premiership.

While some observers questioned the strategy of firing Bob Bradley, whom the club had hired just 85 days earlier, co-owner Jason Levien got on with the brutal business of directing the search for the club’s third manager of a troubled season.
