Broncos mull reasons why Brock Osweiler left them behind

Osweiler: “I don’t feel like a marked man. We’re going to lose and we’re going to shake back”.

On Monday night, Osweiler returns to Denver for the first time with his new team, and while he says he can block out the crowd, he hopes he doesn’t have to. Miller knew it was unlikely that both would get the money they were seeking from the Broncos. “That’s what we want to do”.

The Colts tumbled to the bottom of a porous AFC South after an epic fourth quarter collapse against the Texans, which featured the Brock Osweiler-led squad to erase a 14 point deficit in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

After losing to San Diego last Thursday night, the Denver Broncos are going to be home, which is enough reason in itself to like the chances of a fantasy-pleasing, bounce-back showing from their defense/special teams. Houston has a fan base who will absolutely crucify players, like they did to Brad Lidge and Matt Schaub, heck somebody made a decision to go a step further and taunt Schaub at his house.

After signing a four-year, $72 million contract this offseason, Osweiler has struggled in Houston, often missing his receivers on easy routes and lacking decisiveness.

Point four is the rub at UCHealth Training Center. I actually think this is one of those instances where Chuck Pagano actually tells it like it is: “As far as the tape goes, we all saw what happened”, he said yesterday. I think what we are right now is a three-quarter team and we have to find a way to become a four-quarter team.

Or will past mistakes linger and create divisions in the locker room amid frustration and finger-pointing?

“At the same time, it’s competition and we want to shut him down”. I just want that much for Brock.

Kubiak’s tenure as the Texans’ head coach came crashing down in 2013 when he won just two games and was sacked during the season. “You look at their defense, that’s what we’re concentrating on the most from an offensive standpoint”.

So what do the Broncos know they’re facing this week when they’re up against Osweiler?

“Ring ceremony, same deal – ring ceremony was Sunday night, we had a practice Monday morning, and if I went to the ring ceremony, I wouldn’t have been able to catch a flight back for OTAs, ” Osweiler said. “I think he’s accurate”.

Broncos pass rushers couldn’t hide their smiles when asked about Osweiler’s tendency to hold onto the ball in the pocket. Secondary, [CB] Chris Harris, [CB Aqib] Talib, [S] T.J. He’s been missing a lot of throws and grossly underusing Hopkins. “He’s throwing it everywhere and he’s also forcing a lot of throws so there’s a lot of opportunities to get picks“.

The Broncos’ slow starts have been among their most pressing issues six games into the season.

That the Broncos aren’t holding back in their candor towards Osweiler’s hints at some underlying resentment.

Career outlook: Monday night in Denver will be just Osweiler’s 14th start in his National Football League career, so there is still plenty of time for improvement.

On Monday, O’Brien called it the “biggest non-story of the year”, although it didn’t stop the guys at 120 Sports from asking the question, “Who has more clout in Houston: O’Brien and Osweiler?”
