Bulls stars Wade, Butler fined for critical comments

“They would come to the team” is the line that stood out most.

“I’ll be back”, he said. Yesterday, they were breaking even.

“Guys just got to care if we win or lose”, Butler said. People may think is effective because sports coaches in movies and TV shows push it as such. He’s is not the star he once was and is now a role player on that Bulls team, and an expensive one at that. D-Wade probably hasn’t, but Jimmy and I have been through that, so they lean us for direction on where to go, how to feel. Their journeys will take them to Houston, Oklahoma City and Golden State, before they return home just before the All-Star break.

Butler’s message boiled down to the same thing it always has: he’s going to continue being himself, and nobody can really say anything to him about it because they can’t argue he doesn’t put the work in. Led by Paul Zisper (14 points)-who started in place of Butler-the Bulls dropped 29 points in the second and outscored the Heat by nine in the frame to enter the half knotted at 53.

Besides Wade and Butler not starting, all three players were fined for airing grievances in the media and on social media. I don’t have anything negative to say to him. “It shouldn’t hurt me more than it hurts these young guys”, Wade said after the Bulls’ late-game collapse. “[They] have to care for themselves”.

Nevertheless, there is no good looking in the past, so with that pathetic fourth quarter in the rear view mirror, let’s take a look at what the Chicago Bulls will have to do against the Miami Heat to win their third meeting in a row this season against Wade’s former team. “When you isolate everyone, you can’t win consistently”, the 30-year-old point guard wrote. “I hold my players accountable as a leader of the team”. The gripe is accurate, but calling out teammates publicly is a freakish play. “Hopefully they can prove me wrong, but I will challenge them to see if losses like this hurt”. He said that the younger players work hard, show up, and because of this, they do not deserve blame for a loss. When we’re winning everybody looks great, everybody is doing what they’re supposed to do.

Bulls guard Rajon Rondo then made headlines Thursday when he defended the “young guys” on the Bulls while writing on Instagram, “If anything is questionable, it’s the leadership”.

“That we’re doing it as a team”, he said. They need to learn and to be confident.

After their loss against the Hawks yesterday, Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade had some choice words to say about their team-mates. I can’t care too much for these guys. “It’s very disappointing whenever we don’t play hard”. Yet, for all of the heat that Rondo has gotten for this due largely to his own history, he is right.

“This game is more than just makes and missing”, Wade said.
