Bush on Trump: Time to ‘punch him back in the nose’

February 20 23:24 2016

Will special interest money buy Bush the nomination that voters are unwilling to give him? When you have entire chunks of 30 percent to one half of older voting demographics without an internet connection (and in some cases, without high school degrees or critical thinking skills) it is very easy for misinformation to spread, and thus some people think that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump would be fantastic presidents.

Bush, who has often clashed with Trump during presidential debates, has struggled to break through this campaign season, falling behind U.S. Sen.

Wilkins was the top lawmaker in the state.

In short, he told it like it was, and like it wasn’t, in a multipronged indictment of the ex-president, laid out in front of a livid Jeb Bush, the Republican presidential candidate and former president’s younger brother.

Yes, Jeb Bush actually named his son George Bush. As the North Carolina primary approached, Senator Jesse Helms and Tom Ellis urged him to stay away from the state and let them handle the campaign unless he would do four things: attack President Ford; attack Henry Kissinger; attack the giveaway of the Panama Canal, and attack détente.

Marco Rubio – Rubio would cancel President Obama’s “unconstitutional” executive orders, as well as finish all 700 miles of walls on our southern border and deport criminal illegal aliens.

“That’s because he’s an honourable person. I get a sense that the current occupant of the White House isn’t one of those guys”.

Get news delivered to your inbox every day. He’s all over SC talk radio in ads promoting his brother’s candidacy. The conclusion has to be that Trump was for the Iraq War before he was against it. The controversy goes far beyond flip-flopping or Trump exchanging allegations with another Republican.

“I am sick and exhausted of him going after my family”, Bush said as Trump stood nearby.

“I understand”, he said, “Americans are angry and frustrated, but we do not need someone in the Oval Office who mirrors and inflames our frustration”.

Since the Republican presidential race began, Jeb Bush has been dropping in the polls. He did. After 9/11, America wasn’t attacked again under Bush’s presidency. Viewed in that light, here is a possible explanation for the contentious Bush attack, which, by the way, personally disheartened me. He was down to Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, having dismissed Donald Trump as too centered on “the anger, not the promise” of America. Guess what? Not over. “The question for anyone on illegal immigration is, where were you in that fight?” They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction and there were none. However, Trump carpet-bombs my naivete by shouting, “They lied”. Another rationale for the war, that Iraq had close ties with al-Qaida terrorists, also proved bogus. A few in the South Carolinian crowd marvelled that they ever had; even among Republicans Mr Bush is divisive.

But political observers here don’t see it generating enough outrage to revive Bush’s fortunes.

The debacle is only the most recent example of political pranks online. As the Central Intelligence Agency supervisor “John” told us, no one looked at the bigger picture; no analytic work foresaw the lightning that could connect the thundercloud to the ground. Bush. Bush seems completely unarmed and naked against Trump’s laser-accurate attacks, and its nearly pitiful watching the blood sport with which Trump disassembles Jeb! on stage.

Whether one agrees with Bush’s choice of his brother as problem-solver, his sentiments about what a president should be are right.

“Jeb’s … competing against at least three (others)”, said Woodard, who teaches at Clemson University.

Robert Oldendick of the University of SC put it bluntly.

He was earthy. He recalled a previous visit to a SC breakfast spot, where an animal-rights demonstrator dressed as a pig interrupted Bush’s meal by dumping a “steaming pile of manure” in the parking lot to block his exit.
