Captain America says he isn’t afraid of superhero fatigue

The actor, who dons Captain America’s mask and shield a fifth time for the latest Marvel movie, says the studio knows how to satisfy its fans. That’s anyone’s guess at this point, and presumably Marvel wants to keep the focus on Civil War right now rather than jump ahead to 2018 and 2019 when these two movies are slated to open.

Joe Russo stated that the sequels are two different movies although they are both adaptations of the Infinity War storyline.

“The intention is we will change it“, Joe Russo said. “But, yes, we will change it”, Joe Russo promised. But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: “we will retitle them”, he added.

The Marvel movie has already made more money than the first film in the sequence, 2011’s The First Avenger. I mean, it’s incumbent upon us as storytellers who are making mass-appeal movies to make mass-appeal movies, and to diversify as much as possible. Lurking in the background is Zemo (Daniel Bruhl), a man determined to get his revenge on the Avengers by pitting them against each other. Being a soldier his whole life, he has become hesitant about the government oversight, which is something Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) has been championing. Admittedly this isn’t altogether surprising as Marvel previously kept its “Spider-Man” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” titles a secret until it landed on a proper name. Some great and insightful comments overall from two of the hardest working guys writing for the biggest franchise series since Star Wars. They’re ones we’re familiar with, but unknown to most of the Avengers.

Captain America: Civil War is rated PG-13 for extended sequences of violence, action and mayhem; with a run time of 147 minutes.
