Carr overcomes injury to rally Raiders past Panthers 35-32

“But I wanted to play”. Those missed points kept Oakland down only eight after Benjamin’s touchdown and the Raiders managed to tie it when they got the 2-point conversion after Walford’s score. This didn’t stop the Panthers offense, as Cam hit Ted Ginn for an 88 yard TD. Raiders defensive tackle Stacy McGee hit Newton hard but was called for roughing the passer to give the Panthers added life. Stewart had his longest run of the season in this one, taking a handoff 47 yards up the middle and into the red zone. They are favored to win three of their last five games, but the other two against the Seahawks and the Redskins are winnable as well (especially considering the Seahawks’ performance against the Buccaneers this week).

This type of debauchery is not uncommon at Raider games, as fans of the silver and black have become notorious for their aggressive and often violent nature. Despite Carr’s immediate return, after missing one series, the mood and momentum shifted from the sidelines all the way up through the stands. Following a reoccurring theme this season, the Panthers fell down quickly after three consecutive Raiders scores in the second quarter.

This does not mean he is switching over to the Raiders because he is a bandwagon fan.

This story will be updated with quotes and post-game material from the Raiders locker room at the Oakland Coliseum.

On their first drive of the second half, quarterback Derek Carr (26-for-38, 315 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT) and center Rodney Hudson had a bad snap exchange, and the ball smashed into Carr’s right pinky finger.

During the third quarter, Carr was unable to handle the snap, fumbling the ball, and his finger appeared to be well out of place afterward.

Carr returned later in the half with a glove on his right hand. The players made costly errors, and the Panthers captured a 32-24 lead. The Panthers roared back into the game with three third quarter touchdowns and one at the start of the fourth to take a 32-24 lead. “I wasn’t going to let this game go by without making a few plays”.

Going into the second half, things looked very bleak for the Panthers. The Titans (6-6) gave their playoff hopes a boost, though they watched as Chicago (2-9) cut a 20-point lead to six in the fourth quarter.

The Raiders defense fed off the success of the Raiders, forcing the Panthers to punt on the ensuing drive. “For most of this year we have to come together and win these close games”.

The team’s quarterback Cam Newton was last year’s MVP, as he threw more touchdown passes for defensive strategy than his own receivers. Crabtree found himself being defended by a linebacker and made a nice adjustment to haul in the 49-yard reception to extend the drive.

Titans 27, Bears 21: Marcus Mariota threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns, and the Titans hung on to beat the depleted Bears at Chicago.
