Cavs not making any lineup changes for Game 3 of the Finals

A bonus for the Warriors is Curry is an absolute bargain, by National Basketball Association standards, with a $12.1-million cap hit.

That’s certainly not to say that Irving shoulders most of the blame for Cleveland’s two blowout losses. So good, in fact, Stephen Curry said he feels like he’s on a dating show when asked about his relationship with teammate Kevin Durant.

The Cavaliers had been 12-1 in the playoffs this year until facing the Warriors.

But the perception around the finals would be much different if Irving was playing anywhere close to his best basketball.

Smith says the Cavs remain confident despite Golden State’s dominance. Curry is at the top of his game, registering his first-ever postseason triple double in Game 2 (32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists). And of course there are injuries-Durant has missed considerable time over numerous seasons, and Curry has his own well-documented history with his ankle, but anything can happen. My theory, which was chiefly inspired by Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, the SSOL Suns, and the Wizards’ Gilbert Arenas/Larry Hughes backcourt, was pretty simple: Do away with fixed, traditional positions and let players’ unique skill sets determine their on-court roles. “We got to protect home”, James said. “Kyrie knows what he’s capable of in this building, in the league, at our building”.

“It’s something I am accustomed to”, James said.

“We just want to continue to play how we did in Game 2“, said James, who led his Cavaliers to a title past year despite trailing Golden State by a 3-1 margin in the Finals. He’s been very bad in his past four games, contributing only 14 points in 92 minutes overall. The Heat played in the next four NBA Finals, winning twice.

One problem is the Warriors are better at a fast pace than cars at the Indianapolis 500. He apparently learned from his mistakes of previous year, when his firebrand ways blazed so hot he found himself suspended for Game 5. “I’m a big piece of the team, I know that, but I’m not in control of who should be in inserted into the line-up, who shouldn’t be”. The game will come to you.

“Just seeing a lot of bodies”, Irving said. “That’s how we’ve got to play”. He’s been such a big piece of our success the last three years, obviously. Just that nothing lasts as long as you think it will. Look at the Houston Rockets, who won back-to-back titles in the mid-’90s with an in-his-prime Hakeem Olajuwon then never made it back to the Finals. Smith has scored just three points in two games on 1-of-6 shooting.

According to the report, five of six would post the Warriors as the favorite.

That’s been quite evident through two games.

That same player, however, has been nowhere to be found in the finals. Consider, the Cavs had 20 turnovers in Game 1 and came apart like a hut in a hurricane. The Warriors turned the ball over more in Game 2. “Their offense is their best defense, because even though they’re a good defensive team, their offense really puts a lot of pressure on you“.

Cleveland avoided a 3-0 deficit past year by making a major adjustment when the series moved to Quicken Loans Arena. The difference likely isn’t as pronounced as it appeared to be over the first two games in Oakland, but Golden State does have the more cohesive, consistent group. All of those numbers were a far cry from Thompson’s regular season averages of 22.3 points on 46.8 percent shooting and 41.4 percent from behind the arc. And, in this series, the narrative has changed dramatically in the space of just two games.

“We played against good teams, and we came to the Finals undefeated, and here we are up 2-0, so we’re playing wonderful basketball right now”.

“And if going home to Cleveland and playing in front of our crowd isn’t enough for you, then you might as well go home”.

The argument against Giannis is that the Cavs already have enough players who can’t shoot well enough.
