Chance the Rapper released a beautiful, patriotic new song for the Olympics

The new song titled “We The People” soundtracks the black and white clip.

Featuring a spare, piano accompaniment, the song opens with the performer saying, “We want some heroes in our story. We need glory for while”. It’s an emotional piece lead by the line “We the people would like you to know / That wherever you go we’re right by your side”. “The USA Basketball teams are an incredible example of athletes who come together to pursue their goals for their team and their country”.

Nike has just debuted the “Unlimited Together” film, celebrating the U.S. men’s and women’s basketball teams unifying individual strengths in pursuit of a shared goal- the Olympic gold medal. Elsewhere, apartment buildings and small businesses are blasted with video footage of the two separate USA basketball squads palling around.

Sure, this advertisement has a lot of uber-patriotism-stars and stripes and America’s men’s and women’s basketball teams-but it’s so on-brand with Chance it could be one of his music videos. So far there has been Unlimited Courage, Unlimited Future, and Unlimited You.
