Chiefs hold off Raiders 21-13 to take control of AFC West

There’s been a saying making its way around Kansas City these days: “That’s my quarterback”. These are just my random thoughts from afar. Yes I mean even more than the playoff games. “It is hard, but we are going to keep moving”.

While Alexander and Smith can at least shoulder more of the load with Johnson out, the veteran is one of the faces of the Chiefs defense.

And now the Raiders are 10-1 vs. everybody else, but 0-2 to KC. A strong performance and win in this game could be enough to get Carr over Elliott in the minds of the voters and a loss could put the MVP out of Carr’s reach, which could very well happen. If they win tonight the Chiefs will pull into a tie with the Raiders atop the AFC West and they’d own the tiebreaker by virtue of their two head-to-head wins.

If you need him, Carr isn’t a decent play, but you might look at potential waiver adds such as Andy Dalton (vs. Browns), Carson Palmer (vs. Dolphins), or Colin Kaepernick (vs. Jets).

No other Chiefs player has more than five. That kind of offensive output gives the Raiders a significant chance to play deep into January, and perhaps even February. I’ll just state the individual stats and note that there is this discrepancy. He finished 17-of-41 passing for 117 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
