It is really a matter of concern that some schools in Delhi are unsafe for children, said Deputy CM Manish Sisodia.

“Have called an emergency meeting with officials of DoE at Delhi sectt to review security arrangements of students in govt & pvt schools”, he said.

The school principal claimed that the boy was pulled out, administered first aid and rushed to the nearby Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, where he was declared brought dead. Devansh Meena, a Class I student, lived with his parents and three-year-old sister in south-west Delhi’s Sultanpur. An FIR was registered yesterday at Vasant Kunj North Police Station against unknown persons for causing death by negligence. “I will get all 3,500 schools inspected in next one month through SDMs, fire department, PWD, DJB, education department and MCD”, Mr Sisodia said.

“Ordered District Magistrate of New Delhi to probe in Ryan child death case”.

The Deputy CM also said the boy’s death had “shattered” everyone and that a team of government personnel will carry out inspection for an hour in each of the school buildings to ensure there is no repeat of the incident. The boy’s father termed it a conspiracy and alleged someone from the school authority was behind the incident. The principal asked me to keep quite. Parents allege school principal tried to cover up the incident and rebuked parents for questioning the apathy meted out. “The school authority must be punished”, said an angry parent.

According to sources, six-year-old Divyansh Kakrora was in the school to practise for a poetry competition and is believed to have wandered outside his classroom, leading to the fatal fall.

“We found that the boy had gone missing around seventh period from his class. His body was found from a water septic tank from the school”. Delhi Police have started investigating the case.
