Friday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump resuscitated one of the most unflattering news cycles of 2016, posting an early morning tweetstorm where he continued attacking a woman he’s repeatedly fat-shamed and slandered; this time, he called former Miss Universe Alicia Machado “disgusting” and floated a (false) rumor that she starred in a sex tape.

The Republican White House hopeful said Machado “duped and used” his opponent, Hillary Clinton, who had referred to the pageant victor at this week’s presidential debate as an example of a woman who Trump has objectified and denigrated.

“I’m not advising him to go there”. But Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon took to Twitter to ask, “What kind of human being is this?”

During the interview that taped Tuesday – after Trump made some of his comments – Bill Clinton painted a relationship with Hillary Clinton that was more about their family than politics. Trump and Clinton remain locked in a tight contest.

GOP observers could only shake their heads at Trump’s willingness to go down this path.

At a rally in Novi, Michigan, Trump wondered aloud whether the microphone problem was deliberate.

Back at the MI rally, 74-year-old Beverly Scharf, of Shelby Township, said she was voting for Trump despite the self-created distractions.
