Clinton leads by 7 points as Trump faces grope claims – Reuters/Ipsos poll

As husbands, fathers, grandfathers and brothers of American women, they were disgusted and shocked by Trump’s vulgar and misogynistic comments and condemned The Donald, or totally removed their support for him as their Republican nominee.

Establishment Republicans have struggled to get behind Trump, alarmed by both his style and some of his policy proposals. The real estate mogul has also aggressively charged that Hillary Clinton not only needs to be defeated in November but also imprisoned: “Honestly, she should be locked up”, he said Thursday.

And the Wall Street Journal reports that later today…

His leaked “locker room talk” from 2005, in which he was caught on tape telling then-‘Access Hollywood’ co-host Billy Bush that his fame and fortune let him do anything he wants to women – including “grab them by the p*ssy” – became an instant turn-off for many Republicans, with almost one in five (19 percent) saying his vulgar comments about sexual assault disqualified him from the presidency.

The Republican nominee then focused his ire on one publication in particular: The New York Times.

The claims come on the heels of the release of a recording on which Trump brags about groping women without their consent because he is famous.

However other polls indicate an increase in the businessman’s support.

For months, he’s barred certain reporters and media outlets from his rallies.

The political fallout of the New York Times and People Magazine accounts is pretty clear.

Before Monday’s debate, Trump held a brief news conference with several women who had accused Bill Clinton of unwanted sexual advances.

McGillivray said that she felt someone grab her butt while she was waiting after the concert, then turned around to see Trump quickly turn away from her. Rasmussen Reports updates are also available on Twitter or Facebook. (The Times published two sexual assault allegations against Trump Wednesday, as well as another piece in May that included other examples of alleged inappropriate contact between Trump and women).

1997 Five former contestants in the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant told Buzzfeed News that Trump entered their dressing room while they were changing clothes. Clinton was presented with a home-made picture of herself by 7-year-old Bella Pelosi Kaufman, the granddaughter of House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi. That’s a vital state for the Republican nominee, but a victory there would be one of many steps needed to win the presidency.

The New York billionaire denied the allegations and blamed them on Clinton’s campaign and a complicit news media. “Why didn’t they make it part of the story. if she had added that, it would have been the headline”.

Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta says Republicans have to answer whether they are with Trump or against him, particularly as he runs what Podesta called a “race into the sewer”. It could be a whole new kind of revolt, the seeds of which were sown back in 2009.

TAMARA KEITH, BYLINE: Coming off an intense and ugly debate, Hillary Clinton had a message for young voters gathered at Wayne State University in Detroit – don’t let it all get you down. It’s just one more way the system is rigged.

There are encouraging signs for Donald Trump in Ohio. So after telling their constituents to steep themselves in conspiracy theories, stabbed-in-the-back narratives, and endless cries of victimhood, Republicans were shocked when those ways of seeing the world became a weapon aimed at the GOP itself.

But now, it’s important for Republicans to understand this critical fact about Trump’s outright declaration of war against the media: It’s failing. Trump insists he’s never even met some of the women now accusing him.
