Clouds, showers on cooler day

June 16 23:01 2017

Outdoor plans shouldn’t be ruined for Father’s Day…but keeping an eye out for some storms will be necessary.

Along with the humidity, the warmth returns for the weekend. Across Oklahoma, it’s going to be partly sunny, hot, and muggy Friday with highs in the 90’s.

Storms should approach Chicago and Milwaukee just in time for the evening rush hour, heightening the risk for traffic accidents and the threat for major roadway and airline delays.

We will warm into the upper 80s on Saturday. Highs will remain near seasonal average of 90.

We have a few scattered thunderstorms across parts of Central Alabama early this morning, moving southeast.

Saturday will be our hottest day with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s under mostly sunny skies.

Today early morning clouds will continue to clear out from last evening’s storms giving way to plenty of sun and highs back in the mid 90s similar to yesterday.

The warm and humid pattern will continue Monday and Tuesday before a cold front brings more showers.

Sat: High: 97 Low: 75 Partly cloudy; chance for nighttime storms.

Today: AM Fog, Mix of Clouds, Scattered Showers/Storms (50%).

TROPICS: One low latitude disturbance in the far eastern Atlantic will move westward in coming days with only low odds of development.

The chance for showers and storms falls to 20 percent Sunday, with partly sunny skies, a high near 73 and west winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour.
