Corby was ‘special guest’ on flight home

As she made her way from her villa in Kuta to a waiting vehicle, Schapelle Corby, who’s now on her way home to Brisbane, used the media circus around her to draw attention to a heartbreaking missing persons case – that of William Tyrrell.

Schapelle Corby has arrived back in Australia, but she is yet to be sighted with her security team taking media on a wild goose chase around Brisbane.

As TV reporters reminisced live on air about the first time they heard of a Gold Coast beauty called Schapelle, Corby left for the airport.

Corby was escorted by officials to Bali’s airport and was expected to take a Virgin flight back to Brisbane.

The account had reached more than 97,000 followers since Sunday morning. Within hours that figure had swollen to 30,000-and-growing. Ms Bonella also shared one of the first family dinners: it was a novelty for her to have proper plates and a table.

Ari Budijanto, the head of Ngurah Rai Immigration office, said that Corby would be banned from entering Indonesia for at least six months.

While Corby will be joined on the aircraft by her sister Mercedes and brother Michael, the Corbys have also hired John McLeod, a body guard who normally looks after Hollywood types and pop stars, to chaperone them.

Corby was arrested at Bali’s global airport on October 8, 2004, with 4.2 kilograms of marijuana stuffed in her boogie board bag.

She was dubbed “The Ganja Queen” by the local press and received little sympathy from the public, who largely support the country’s tough anti-drugs laws.

Schapelle Corby’s homecoming was never going to be low key.

“However, William’s family and the campaign have absolutely no association with Schapelle, her supporters or her family”.

“We were quite shocked that she was on our flight”, they said.

The deportation marks the end of a saga lasting more than a decade, and the now 39-year-old Corby will finally return home.

On the eve of her deportation Schapelle Corby posted a photo of the two dogs – Luna and May – she was forced to leave behind on her brand new Instagram account. “Since midnight on May 27 Corby is free”.

The Virgin flight turned “media plane” was trailing behind Corby’s jet and touched down around 10 minutes later.

By 6.30am, she had not shown up at her mother Rosleigh Rose’s house at Loganlea. If she got the death sentence she can not rehabilitate.

More than 100 police were involved, four police cars lead and shadowed her convoy from home to the parole office to the airport, dramatic rehearsals were held earlier in the day.
