Creepy clown sightings sweeping United States hit Victoria

A New Jersey town is discouraging residents from letting their children wear clown costumes this Halloween in light of the creepy crown epidemic sweeping across the country.

To be clear, while some of these occurrences have been violent and unsafe, most clown reports we’ve seen have merely involved mischief and noncredible social media threats.

On Tuesday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department also warned of a new “prank” in Lancaster involving a group of males wearing clown masks who are possibly armed with kitchen knives.

At 9:25 a.m., an electronic threat was made at a school in the 900 block of South Homan in North Lawndale, police said.

DeKalb School District 428 also cautioned parents of threatening messages being sent to students through social media from an unknown person identifying as a clown. Officers tracked down one incident where a student heard another student talking about it and made a fake Facebook page to scare the other student. However, he did say when it was necessary to call the police if a sighting should occur.

The Davenport Police Department does not “clown around” when it comes to clown pranks/jokes/hoaxes.

Const. Dianne Woodworth said students at Halifax West High School advised staff of the photo posted to Instagram Tuesday morning. “When people start arming themselves with bats because they are going to go clown hunting, definitely a problem”, he said.

“At first, I thought he was telling a fib and I said, ‘Go in the house and we’ll talk about this again, ‘ because I didn’t want it all over the place”, Arnold said.

A wave of clown threats and sightings swept across the Chicago area and northwest IN on Monday and Tuesday.

“There are people who make a living doing this and it makes it harder for them to be able to do their jobs because of how clowns are being portrayed”. She said that on Monday her son received a friend request on Facebook from an account with a scary clown as its profile picture.
