Talk about shots being fired, MMA star Conor McGregor threw plenty of shots at retired boxer Floyd Mayweather while speaking with ESPN’s Kenny Mayne. “The leak came out and it was him who leaked the rumour”.
“I hear the boy talking”, McGregor said of Mayweather on ESPN’s Sunday Conversation. It was him that leaked the rumor that he’d get $100 million, I’d get $7 million.
“All said and done, there were times (I thought), ‘I should have just jumped on the damn flight.’ … Seven million is absolutely laughable – he’s talking $100 million, I’m also talking $100 million”.
Conor’s desperate tweet a few days later made things even more awkward when McGregor attempted to back Dana White into an even tighter corner by publicly commending Dana for putting the fight back on the UFC 200 card. That’s the truth. He fights somebody else in the boxing realm and all of a sudden the pay goes from $100 million to $15 million.
And the Irish MMA fighter denied that he would be paid less than the American for the fight.
It seemed to be taken to an all-new level this week when “Money” reportedly offered McGregor million of just that to face him inside the squared circle, and “The Notorious” must have taken that as a sign, as he wildly proclaimed that Mayweather “needs him” instead of the opposite scenario.
“Who doesn’t want to conquer both worlds?”
She was recently liked to a potential fight with rising women’s bantamweight contender Germaine de Randamie at July’s UFC 201 this week, but Cyborg is apparently playing hardball, stating she would rather defend her Invicta title at 145 pounds for some odd reason.
“I don’t care about rules”. He can make all the rules he wants. “I will set aside many other forms of fighting that I practice and I will focus on one particular craft”.
If all of the promotional and financial details do get worked out, McGregor said he would acquiesce to Mayweather’s demands when it comes to the fight itself. McGregor and Diaz could possibly have a rematch at UFC 202 in August. “[In MMA], I’m in a game of spinning plates … to put all of them down and have just one boxing plate spinning, it would be like a load off my shoulders”.
“I feel like my gut has been emptied again”, McGregor said. The 31-year-old fighter has made it known that he has not been given the proper credit for defeating McGregor at UFC 196, forcing the Irishman to submit in the second round. I just wanted to do reasonable media stuff … “I’m very focused on returning 100-percent”.
“I’ll tell you what, it blew up”.
