Dark Souls for Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Confirmed

February 15 20:00 2016

Fans have speculated whether Dark Souls 3 will receive DLC ever since the game was first revealed, given how well the same type of new content did so well for the previous installment in the series.

It’s about to get a whole lot better, too.

Dark Souls III releases on April 12 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

You get to play the original Dark Souls on Xbox One if you buy Dark Souls 3 digitally. It’s growth has been steady until now, with Microsoft issuing new games monthly. The game will also be free to all those who pre-order Dark Souls 3.

While there were some games in there that we can’t wait to play on the Xbox One, we are also still waiting for some of the other Xbox 360 games to arrive on the Xbox One.

IO Interactive has confirmed that Hitman: Absolution is coming to the Xbox One via the backwards compatibility feature that was switched on for the console a year ago. Red Dead Redemption appeared in the program for download briefing this month before disappearing again.

For nostalgic gamers, nothing beats the experience brought about by true classics of gaming history, and Microsoft seems to know it, judging from the arrival of Galaga.

The game has yet to be officially announced for Xbox One backwards compatibility and the pre-order bonus is not live on the US Xbox Store.
