Fresh off his Thursday night tweet storm aimed at the National Journal, Donald Trump was back in the saddle on Friday morning and retweeted a jab at Jeb Bush that came from a neo-Nazi.
The user tweeted a photoshopped picture of Jeb Bush outside a Trump tower holding a Vote Trump sign, captioning it “Poor Jeb”.
Reuters identified the image for the account as that of George Lincoln Rockwell, a prominent figure in the neo-Nazi movement in the United States.
That said, surely you notice something is amiss when you retweet a post from “WhiteGenocideTM”?
No doubt, Trump will try to pretend that he just didn’t notice the source of his re-tweet, or say that re-tweeting isn’t an endorsement, but as CNN reporter Jeremy Diamond illustrates, he has already said that re-tweeting is endorsing for Trump.
Both Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush have been targeted by their competitor on Twitter, and might be enjoying the current backlash Trump is enduring over the white genocide social media share. When he retweeted a post insulting Iowans in October, he apologized and blamed an intern for the mistake. The Ted Cruz meme was captioned, “A Time for Lies”.
Donald Trump, the GOP frontrunner now leading the polls in both Iowa and New Hampshire, retweeted a supporter whose account is riddled with overtly racist and anti-Semitic sentiment.
