At an inaugural concert held on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, he saluted the statue of Abraham Lincoln before giving a thumbs up to the crowd. It’s a historic moment; a multitude of average citizens will be vying for a good vantage point to see Donald Trump put his hand on the bible and recite the oath of office. The newly minted president and vice-president make their way 2.4 kilometres along Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House, trailed by some 8,000 parade participants.
On their website, organizers said they are planning “a series of massive direct actions that will shut down the Inauguration ceremonies and any related celebrations”. “I tell you what, one thing we’ve learned, we have by far the highest IQ of any cabinet ever assembled”.
Our nation’s capital is decorated and prepared to welcome the masses of people who will arrive to see (or even protest) the traditional event. “We all got exhausted of seeing what was happening and we wanted change, but we wanted real change”, Trump said.

There have been around 30 permits granted in Washington for anti-Trump rallies, the number of protests and rallies this year have outnumbered the typical protests, which occurred during recent presidential inaugurations.
“This journey began 18 months ago”, Trump said to wrap up the event. Trump’s subsequent jabs at the civil rights leader on Twitter led to more Democratic lawmakers to give up their seats.
Spicer also suggested Trump could issue executive orders immediately after – or within days of – taking office on some of his signature issues: immigration, job creation, and manufacturing.
Down the road at the White House, President Barack Obama spent his last day in office with the daily briefing and lunch with Vice-President Joe Biden. More than 213,000 people have said on the event’s main Facebook page that they plan to attend.
Trump, meanwhile, raised eyebrows again this week when he proposed holding more military parades in Washington and NY. The new leaders of the USA and their families will be followed down Pennsylvania Ave by more than 8000 parade participants, including high school and university marching bands, first responders, and representatives from each branch of the U.S. military.
