Samsung launched S8 and S8 Plus on March 29. “The Galaxy S8 has a 5.8” sAMOLED display on the front and the larger variant the Galaxy S8+ has a 6.2″ sAMOLED display.
Electronics giant Samsung today unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, Galaxy S8, that will be available in India for Rs 57,900 onwards. Bixby also generates cards with information related to the apps that you use.
Every day this testing is going on, and we know nothing about it.
The pre-orders for both the devices will begin today on Flipkart and Samsung’s official website where the company is also giving away a wireless charger with all the pre-orders. The Samsung phone features infinity display which is a bezel-less edge to edge screen. The USP of both the devices, however, is the display on the front. The smartphones also come with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
There’s a fair bit more in common between these displays: both are super-crisp Quad HD stunners, and both have mobile HDR capabilities, offering stronger contrast between light and dark colours. The difference is noticeable, and with auto-focus now included to recognise faces, it will really up the selfie game. Regardless, KGI now expects that the Galaxy S8 will ship 50 million units before the year ends, while the Galaxy S8+ will ship 55 million. According to the website, Bixby ‘can talk, see, read, recommend the user on actions. With the Galaxy S8 already well into its first week in the market, Kuo is making some predictions on the Galaxy Note 8’s features.
Processor: The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ available in India will be powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core Exynos 8895 processor clubbed with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU. The analyst explains that the full-screen design has offset other concerns relating to the Galaxy S8, such as its rear-facing fingerprint sensor and the lack of a dual-camera.
The obvious star of the show here is the screen, which takes up almost all of the front of the new smartphones.
Smartphone companies are gearing up their flagships with new features that will better than the other.
However, Samsung is going for its new Exynos 8895 chip here in Australia, with the next-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 in some worldwide regions.
While features such as Bixby will still work with or without the S8’s stock launcher, some launchers just don’t play very nicely with the phone. Speaking for availability, Samsung can be expected to make the two smartphones available from online and offline retailers.
